Then walk through the station to the 7th Avenue exits and walk to 5th Avenue and 31 St (about 1/3 mile). Take the Airport AirTrain to the Airport Railroad station then take a New Jersey Trainsit train (not an Amtrak or Acela train) to New York Penn Station (don't get it confused with NEWARK Penn Station which comes first and is in New Jersey). To get to your hotel on 31 St and Fifth Avenue from EWR: Buy a New Jersey Transit ticket at the airport for New York City ($12.50). It's not far from Times Square, but it's really considered "near the Empire State Building" or "near Macys". It's a 2/3 mile from the southern-most part of Times Square.
I looked up your hotel address for (It's a big city we don't know the locations of every hotel) I take exception to that "Near Times Square".
